November has been one of the biggest months this year for LEGO, with major releases from themes for all brick-building fans. We’ve seen a new lineup of Star Wars sets for the upcoming film, the massive Taj Mahal and a 1950’s Downtown Diner. The LEGO Ideas program played a helping hand this month as well, as it just recently announced the upcoming Tron Light Cycle. Now as a continuation of our previous coverage, we’ll be looking at November’s most noteworthy Ideas models.
This month is packed with a variety of cool could-be kits, with builds perfect for expanding your city layout, vehicles for exploring uncharted territory and more.
As LEGO continues to release bigger and more impressive sets, so too has the Ideas program ramped up their efforts as well. And while we’ve seen a lot of noteworthy models stemming from the crowdfunding efforts, not every submitted set has the chance to join other kits on store shelves. Each idea must first receive 10,000 supporters before entering the review phase where LEGO set designers figure determine whether or not it should become a set.
Arctic Snow Cruiser
My favorite pick this month is BlackoutK’s wonderful Arctic Snow Cruiser. The build is composed of a bright orange color scheme and adorned with all the gear needed to take on even the toughest climates. You’ll also find a large snowplow on the front of the cruiser flanked by two giant sets of moveable treads. In its current iteration, the model consists of 670 pieces and pairs nicely with its 3 article-themed scientist minifigures. With just under 500 supporters so far, the Arctic Snow Cruiser has 259 days to hit its next milestone.
Old Brick Building with LEGO Store
City-inspired builds always seem to be a favorite of LEGO Ideas supporters, making the LEGO Store a perfect inclusion in this month’s roundup. Creator dannybobmusic has packed an incredible amount of detail in here with their latest build. The modular build stacks up to 3 stories tall and is made from roughly 2,400 pieces. Inside the LEGO Store you’ll find everything from the iconic Pick-A-Brick wall, a selection of kits and more. Nearing 1,000 supporters, you’ll only have 236 days left to back this model.
Medieval Bakery
Those looking for something a little less modern will be right at home with CARLIERTI’s Medieval Bakery. With over 1,100 included bricks, you’ll find details like realistic stonework, a decked-out kitchen and of course a variety of pastries and bread. But what would a bakery be without any bakers, which is why the could-be set also includes 2 appropriately dressed minifigures. The bakery has amassed over 600 supporters and still have 145 days left in its campaign.
123 Sesame Street
LEGO has recently been expanding its sets, bringing in new IP alongside the addition of lineups like Tron. That makes bulldoozer21’s Sesame Street-themed set even more likely to reach fruition The massive apartment building features 7 different multi-colored rooms alongside 14 minifigures of all your favorite characters. That includes everyone from a brick-built Big Bird, The Count, Cookie Monster and of course Elmo. With more 500 days left, the model has raised over 3,000 supporters.
