Woobo in a nutshell is a personal assistant like Alexa, but for toddlers and it comes all wrapped up in a soft cuddly exterior. It can answer questions your child asks, play games and more as it is always updating and learning new tricks. You can find it on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo where it has already met its funding goal by over 400%.
Just imagine, all those questions your child typically bounces off of you can now be answered in a fun interactive way with Woobo. Not only that, Woobo knows the answers to countless curious questions. Kids can ask it things they wonder about and Woobo will respond in a “kid-friendly way to encourage more exploration.” This stuffed animal can interact with kids in a brand new way to help your child learn fundamental things. For instance, there are over 40 different activities that promote development and learning for small children. Woobo is connected to a library of “high-quality stories and songs which are carefully selected to be fun and educational.”
Woobo has been designed to be a friend for your child that encourages fun, curiosity and even education. It may look like just a stuffed animal, but Woobo’s face is a touchscreen display with songs, games and other activities all pre-loaded or within reach using Wi-Fi. The Woobo team wanted to create an AI safe and educational for children that also “cultivates children’s natural creativity.”
Playing with Woobo lets children practice reasoning and judge causal sequences through quizzes, puzzles, and adventure stories where kids make decisions and face consequences from their choices.
Also, just like most new tech these days aimed at kids, there’s an app for parents to monitor and control Woobo from their smartphones. Parents can set schedules, reminders and check in on the recent activities. From the app, you’ll be able to select from a library of activities you want Woobo to perform.
A pledge of $119 or more will get you a Woobo at 40% off the expected retail price which is also the lowest offer currently available (for a limited time). You’ll also get a lifetime of free content upgrades (~$120 value) and choice of three colors: teal, pink, or violet. If all goes as planned Woobo will start shipping this December.
