Bluetooth earbuds shine as a great option for those when on-the-go, working out or really any time where emphasizing portability is a must. Those in the market for a less expensive pair should look no further than NuForce’s latest Bluetooth earbuds. Sporting a lightweight design and backed by a solid all-around sound quality, the BE2 come in at a more affordable $49 price tag.
For headphones and earbuds alike, sound quality is ultimately one of the deciding factors. That, alongside how well they stay on or in your ears, makes all the difference between a decent or second-rate pair of cans. In both cases, I found the NuForce BE2’s held up and offered a compelling option at its lower price point than other similarly-styled earbuds.
Regardless of how well-designed a pair of earbuds end up being, lacking in the audio quality department is all it takes to kick the headphones out of your every day carry. This isn’t the case with the BE2, which have really solid sound across the mids and highs, especially considering they’re a $49 pair of earbuds. So for casual listening sessions like traveling and working out, these should definitely have no issues doing the trick.
On top of that, audio distortion was fairly minimal at higher levels, even though the earbuds boast a much louder maximum volume than I’m used to with AirPods. On the other hand, those who enjoy songs or content laced with high levels of bass will be slightly disappointed as NuForce’s latest fall on the low end of performance in that regard.
Another plus with the BE2 is that while not officially touted as rocking noise-cancelling, I found the earphones did a pretty solid job at blocking out anything that wasn’t my tunes. This feat falls mostly on earbuds’ default silicone tips, which adopt what I’d call a two-stage-earbud mold. So not only does this create a relatively sound-proof seal, it also helps hold the buds in place, even through more rigorous activities.
This atypical earbud design lends itself well to the overall comfort of BE2 the as well. While short listening sessions were a breeze, they were also enjoyable to use well into longer, more extended periods too. In fact, on more than one occasion, I had practically forgotten the earbuds were in at all. If the default earbud tips aren’t he right shape or size though, a few different pairs are included to fit just about anyone.
Rounding out the BE2’s design, you’ll find a inline remote that brings standard audio controls to the earbuds. This offers the typically assortment of volume control, changing tracks, play and pause, and invoking pairing mode. Included as well is a microphone for taking calls, which I used through a few calls with no complaints. They also sport the ability to summon Siri through the remote, which is a pretty big plus. At the $49 price, I understand that there needs to be compromises in terms of functionally, but it would have just been a nice added touch.
Alongside the BE2’s solid design and sound quality, you’ll also find more premium features like magnets in the earbuds’ backs that keep them secured around your neck when not in use. NuForces’ earbuds are also said to be sweat-proof, which seems to be the case, although I didn’t test them extensively in this regard. The BE2 also sport 10 hour battery life, a spec that’s right on the money from my experience.
Overall at the price of $49, the NuForce BE2 Bluetooth Earbuds are well-built and pack solid sound quality. They’re lightweight enough to use as your daily drivers or while working out, and would be a great buy at its middle-of-the-road price point. If you’re in the market for a new pair of Bluetooth earbuds, these are definitely worth consideration in my book.
