Sling Media’s multi-cam production system is now compatible with DJI Drones. According to the company, it is the world’s first affordable wireless and portable multi-cam video suite with live broadcasting capabilities for aerial footage. And now, it is fully compatible with DJI’s Phantom, Inspire and Matrice flyers.

The SlingStudio system starts at $999 and consists of the main hub, add-on CameraLink adapter, battery and USB-C Expander along with a host of iOS apps to control everything.

Using the companies $349 CameraLink wireless adapter, user can transmit/capture up to 1080p60 video to the SlingStudio hub from a maximum range of 300-feet. It can support up to 10 connected video sources at the same time, while monitoring a maximum of four. That includes everything from DSLRs and other high-end video cameras, as well as drones, smartphones and more. It uses a private, video-grade WI-Fi connection to make this all happen, which means you will not need an active internet connection.

With SlingStudio, creative professionals now have the freedom and flexibility to tell a story from multiple points of view in real time…We’re excited to see how crews flying DJI drones will incorporate this technology to bring a new element of storytelling to their live video projects.

If you’re looking to start your professional aerial career now, it is available now at B&H starting at $999 or $1,348 for a bundle with the CameraLink adapter and more.

Starting at $999, SlingStudio is capable of recording, monitoring and editing four HD video inputs from up to 10 aerial drone systems, ground cameras and smartphones. It can output live video to streaming services like Facebook Live and YouTube, while simultaneously recording to a USB hard drive, USB SSD or SD card for post-production.

The remote controller of compatible DJI drones plugs into SlingStudio’s HDMI input port, or connects to SlingStudio wirelessly via the CameraLink wireless adapter. The drone streams live footage to its controller base, which then routes the video to the SlingStudio hub via the HDMI or CameraLink connection. This allows the drone to send high-quality video to SlingStudio from anywhere within the drone’s recommended range.
