Dell now has an UltraSharp 38-inch Curved Monitor with USB-C

Dell recently released a 38-inch UltraSharp Ultra-Wide Curved Display — finally joining the ranks of Acer, LG, Samsung and Asus in both the large size and high-resolution category. This impressive new WQHD+ display that’s 3840 x 1600 features a 100W USB-C connection that can charge your compatible devices while at the same time transmitting data. Plus it has integrated dual 9W speakers and a built-in KVM feature that lets you switch between two computers or display multiple screens at the same time.

This impressive display is actually categorized as a business class monitor and has a virtually borderless screen. While the image quality from the U3818DW is likely to be amazing, this monitor has been designed for productivity. The built-in KVM switch is there so you can use the same keyboard and mouse on multiple machines hooked into the one display. This monitor also has the ability to send up to a 100W charge over its USB-C cable to juice up a compatible laptop or smartphone. If your device doesn’t output video with a USB-C port, you can try using the DisplayPort output or one of two HDMI ports that are also available.

This monitor is most definitely aimed at business executives and other professionals who really need the ability to run multiple applications on a single monitor. As we mentioned previously, the monitor has two HDMI inputs, a USB-C port, a DisplayPort, and four USB 3.0 Type-A ports. Two of the USB Type-A ports can be used to charge external devices.

Dell states that it’s possible to view applications between two PCs simultaneously and manage content with a single keyboard and mouse thanks once again to that built-in KVM feature. There’s also Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture technology should you have a use for those.

Dell’s new display uses InfinityEdge borderless display technology to provide an “expansive edge-to-edge viewing experience.” The monitor also boasts strong color support with 99-percent coverage of the sRGB color gamut and a Delta-E of 3.0 or less. Dell’s ComfortView technology is available for reduced eye fatigue, and the dual 9W speakers are on hand for audio support. Finally, the monitor provides for fast 1ms motion blur reduction with Free-Sync support.

This UltraSharp U3118DW is available now directly from Dell for $1,499.99
