RoomMe is the newest way to make your smart home even smarter. Currently being funded on Indiegogo, the system works by getting your smart devices to work with “person-specific presence intelligence.” That means if you walk into a room, it will prompt an immediate response from your lights, thermostat and TV to the exact settings you want. Also, this new system is compatible with HomeKit, Nest, SmartThings, Wink and Wemo.
RoomMe can accurately sense who’s in the room by detecting smartphones and personalizes your device settings accordingly. The sensor identifies who’s in the room and then the integrated app sets lights, thermostats, cameras and other IoT smart home devices in the room according to the preset person-specific predefined rules. If there’s more than one person in a room, you’ll need to define who is in control.
With each additional smart home device you add in your home, your customization options grow. RoomMe allows you to no longer need to talk or point at your devices, just walk around and they will automatically do what you have programmed them to do.

RoomMe is actually a very secure system because it doesn’t use any cloud services to store your data. Plus, there’s no personal identification that you need to provide to RoomMe. The RoomMe app will not share this information or back it up on the RoomMe cloud. Rules are stored on your SmartPhone only. RoomMe does not accept smart home device operation commands from external sources, making it impossible to tweak your defined rules or bypass them.
For $139 you can get your own RoomMe Super Early Bird Starter Kit. It includes one RoomMe SmartSensor and an additional sensor. If all goes well, RoomMe will start shipping from May to June of next year.
