After announcing its intentions to buy Withings over a year ago, Nokia has officially completed the rebranding process today and introduced a handful of new digital health products. Some of the previously available Withings accessories are making the transition to the new brand as-is while others have disappeared completely. New additions to the lineup include the Body Scale as well as a premium version of its iPhone-connected blood pressure monitor. Full details on the entire refreshed line of products below.
Nokia’s move to purchase Withings wasn’t without drama, as Apple quickly removed some products from its retail locations. Promised HomeKit features also quickly went out the window, too. All of this comes on the heels of an eventually settled lawsuit between the two brands.
All of that aside, we’re getting two new products today with the fresh branding efforts. The Body Scale is up first with an affordable $60 price tag. Withing’s previously released Body Cardio is still available with a new Nokia logo attached for $180.
At $60, the new Body Scale is likely to be a hit with consumers looking to track their weight over time but don’t want to spend $100+. Features include smartphone-connectivity with automatic Wi-Fi syncing as well as BMI tracking over time. It will also weigh your baby and has a new ‘Pregnancy Mode’ that tracks changes throughout the nine months. The Body Scale is available for purchase today.
Today’s announcement also delivers BPM+, an at-home blood pressure monitor system that is a follow up to the popular Withings version. It drops the bright neon green colors for a more subdued look and is priced at $30 less than its predecessor. Much like the scale, Nokia’s Health Mate app will track your trends and remind you when it’s time to check your blood pressure again. It is available for purchase today at $100.
Speaking of the app, Withings users will notice a completely new design that includes simpler graphs and a lighter feel overall. As a long-time fan of the previous iteration, I’m not too crazy about these initial differences. All of my data transfered but the dashboard has seen quite a few changes.
Most of the other Withings hold overs including the Steel fitness trackers are available to purchase over at the new Nokia Health website. If you’re looking for official Withings-branded models that have now been discontinued, they are still available over at Amazon if you’d prefer those instead. Nokia will continue support for these products for the foreseeable future.
