With Opening Day just around the corner now, we have seen a number of new products, deals and more to tie in with the 2017 Major League Baseball Season. Around this time last year, Levi’s and MLB launched the Costal Rivalries Collection combining some of Levi’s most classic silhouettes with Major League Baseball’s most iconic teams: New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, L.A. Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. Today, the Levi’s X MLB line is expanding with a series of new designs and nine new teams.
The lineup consists of options for both men and women including the Western Barstow plaid shirt, a crewneck sweatshirt and a vintage inspired Club Coat. But, clearly, the Levi’s classic denim Trucker jacket with the team logos is the real MVP here.
Along with the aforementioned teams for last year’s collection, Levi’s is adding designs for the Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers, Oakland A’s, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Mets, Seattle Mariners and St. Louis Cardinals. Whether your team is in there or not, that’s a nice selection of colorways. And I have to say, as someone that wouldn’t necessarily be drawn to sports apparel like this, I really appreciate the sort of vintage appeal here (especially on the Trucker).
The lineup now adds to the Levi’s sports crossover options alongside the NFL and NBA collections.
The collection is available now at Levi’s (retail and online), MLB Shops, Lids Locker Room at Macy’s and select MLB team retail locations. It sounds like Nordstrom’s will also be stocking certain teams and items. This year, for the first time, baseball fans in Mexico and Canada will have a chance to get in on the action. We are also expecting the line to release in Asia “later this year”. The Truckers go for around $108, with Club Coats going for $98 and crewnecks/plaid shirts at $78.
It’s been raining good news for MLB fans this month as we mentioned above. T-Mobile’s free MLB at Bat promo about to kick off, the popular MLB Tap Sports Baseball is back for 2017, and the official MLB app for iOS got a big update that includes the first example of customizable home screen icons as part of a new iOS feature. And if you’re a gamer, the world’s greatest baseball sim, MLB The Show 17, just released on PlayStation 4 this week. Amazon Prime members can still grab it for just $47.99 shipped (Reg. $60, lowest price we have seen).
