Goal Zero begins shipping its new Yeti Lithium Power Stations, blending portable energy with a big price tag

Goal Zero first unveiled its upgraded line of Yeti Lithium Power Stations back at CES 2017, but details were somewhat sparse at the time. Flash forward to March, and the new renewable energy generators are ready to ship to the general public. This includes the Yeti 400 and 1400 Lithium models that ditch the old-school lead-acid batteries. The former retails for $699.99 with 428Wh of capacity while the latter comes in at $1,999.99 and 1425Wh. Both are quite expensive in comparison to competitors on the market like Anker’s PowerHouse, which is currently on sale for $400 (Reg. $500).

The Yeti 400 Lithium includes three 2.4A USB ports, dual 110V AC and 12V outputs. Comparably, the larger 1400 tosses in an extra USB port, but mainly uses its extra real estate for the battery pack. Both models are capable of being charged via an AC outlet or solar panels (not included). Thankfully, both models come in at significantly less weight than the previous generation. Goal Zero rates its lithium batteries for up to 18-months of shelf-life in between charges. While it’s nice to see the change from lead-acid to modern day alternatives, Goal Zero is admittedly late to the game here. None the less, we’re all for the expansion of alternative energy.

The Goal Zero Yeti 1400 Lithium is the next generation of portable, award-winning power. Engineered from the ground up, the Goal Zero Yeti Lithium is the one of the most versatile and innovative power stations on the market. Its built-in surge allowances and multi-stage protection means great compatibility with more devices ranging from lights to laptops, refrigerators to power tools, giving you the confidence to power anything, anywhere.
