AT&T officially announced DirecTV Now to much fanfare on Monday as the new online streaming service looks to offer the strongest cord cutting alternative yet. Amidst the shuffle of details was a notable deal that nets new customers a free 4th Generation 32GB Apple TV when three months of service are paid in advance. DirecTV Now plans start at $35 per month, making the out-the-door price as little as $105. This deal represents a $255 value as a 4th Gen. Apple TV generally sells for $150. DirecTV Now is also offering a free Amazon Fire TV Stick with the purchase of one-month of service, an $85 value.
For cord cutters, this may be the best alternative to traditional cable yet. DirecTV Now brings the back-end support of two industry veterans alongside a large catalog of on-demand content. The base Live a Little $35 per month package includes over 60 channels with big names like ESPN, TNT, TBS, and USA. Additional plans bring premium content and more sports.
