Each month, Sony’s PlayStation Plus and Microsoft’s Xbox Live Gold services give away a handful of free games to subscribers, adding value to each company’s multi-console online gaming service. January’s games are now available for download, including the following free titles:
For PlayStation Plus, Sony is offering inFAMOUS: First Light, The Swapper, Prototype 2, DuckTales Remastered, Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition, and Whoa Dave. All of these titles are available now, spread out across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita. By comparison, a digital copy of inFAMOUS: First Light alone sells for $15 on Amazon, only $3 less than the cost of a three-month PlayStation Plus membership with three months of free games.
For Xbox Live Gold, Microsoft is giving away D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die (shown above), Worms Battlegrounds, MX vs ATV Alive, and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (starting January 16). The first two titles are available for Xbox One, and the latter two are for Xbox 360.
