TouchPico: Turn Any Surface Into A Touch Screen with this Amazing Device

The TouchPico is a miniature handheld projector that runs on Android and lets you interact with the projected images via a special stylus.

Let me reiterate.. It lets you interact with the images you have projected like giant touchscreen tablet.

It”s basically an Android tablet that has been shrinked to fit in your pocket and can be projected onto any flat surface. Because it’s so small and portable, it’s ideal for business meetings, presentations, or just having fun.

Like I said before, what sets this projector apart is the TouchPico’s infrared pen, which, when pressed onto a surface, outputs an infrared signal that is read by a camera on the front of the projector. This essentially allows users to manipulate the projected screen using the pen like they would a touchscreen device with a finger. The device itself is a pico projector that outputs a 854 x 480 display onto a screen or a wall.

Paired with the projector is an Android 4.0 device running on a 1GHz processor with two cores. There’s also an HDMI port so the TouchPico can be used like a more traditional projector.

The ability to move objects/projections is reminiscent of the Sci-Fi thriller Minority Report (2002)

The TouchPico was first announced at CES earlier this year, and will likely be available around the holiday season (even if the Indiegogo isn’t fully funded by that time). Currently, you can shell out $270 to get one of the first TouchPicos, but the price will probably soar to around $500 when it’s released commercially.
