What this means for the brand as a whole is still unclear, but it will likely be a while before we see new hardware designs influenced directly by the reported acquisition. Along with its BT speakers and other accessories, Beats has released several versions of its Dr. Dre branded headphone options (including a line of earbuds in partnership with Apple) with, in many cases, mostly aesthetic upgrades, leaving some great deals on older models that sound just as good.
For example, the latest generation Drenched in Color series are currently listed at around $170 on Amazon and most retailers down from the regular $200, which is still more expensive than the older $300 models that are arguably better sounding.
With all of the Beats talk in the news lately we decided to round-up the best current deals available:
- Beats by Dre Wireless Bluetooth On-Ears: $220 shipped (Reg. $280) | Groupon
- Beats By Dre Studio Over Ears (multiple colors, refurb): $130 shipped (orig. $300) | Tanga
- Amazon offers 10% off Select Beats by Dre Products: Beats urBeats In-ears (all colors matching Amazon’s low except original black and white), Beats Pill portable BT speakers (the pink and silver options are matching lowest)
- The Beats official Ebay refurb store can be a great place to pick up solid discounts if you’re looking for a particular model/color – items include a 30-day warranty from Beats
