Here’s our first look at the new PS4/Xbox One Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game in action

Update (2/1 9:30am): Amazon Prime members can now pre-order TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan for just $39.99 shipped on Xbox One and PS4, down from $50 (automatically applies in the cart for Prime members).

Some of you may be familiar with Japanese developer PlatinumGames from its work on Bayonetta 1 and 2, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, The Wonderful 101, and the upcoming Xbox One exclusive Scalebound. Over the past week or so, some leaks for a new Platinum Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game started to surface online, and now we have official confirmation of the title along with the debut trailer:

While the cell shaded-like graphics of the initial screenshots gave us a good idea of what the game would look like, we now see the turtles in action, along with a decent look at some actual gameplay. It has been a long while since we got an amazing TMNT console title. While it is too early to tell how Mutants in Manhattan will turn out, there is some serious potential here. It looks like we can expect both a single player campaign and a 4 player experience, with what looks to be some awesome boss battles starring iconic villains such as Bebop, Rocksteady, Armaggon and more.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is scheduled to drop for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC sometime this summer. And here are some more screens and details:

Remember Amazon is still offering 20% off pre-orders and new releases (including Scalebound) and you’ll find the rest of the most notable deals in our games/app hub.

Activision Publishing and PlatinumGames have joined forces to create tmntmutantsinmanhattan.com, a third-person action game featuring New York’s crime-fighting Heroes in a Half Shell. Players will protect The Big Apple from aliens, mutants and the Foot Clan in a single-player campaign or partner with up to three friends in four-player online co-op. But be prepared – defeating Bebop, Rocksteady, Shredder and other iconic bosses won’t be easy.

PlatinumGames’ flair for stylish visuals and fluid combat are on full display in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan. Fast-paced, team-based brawling will challenge gamers of all skill levels. Each Turtle has a distinctive combat play style and can be customised with a unique set of Ninjutsu moves, combat items and special bonuses.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan also features gorgeous, cel-shaded art design, with an original story from prolific author of IDW Publishing’s acclaimed ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Tom Waltz.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is expected to arrive this summer as a retail and digital release on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment systems, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC via Steam.
