Nintendo announces Zelda Twilight Princess HD remaster + Wolf Link/Midna & Gold Mega Man amiibo, more

Update (11/17 2:15pm): Amazon now has the The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Wii U remaster/amiibo bundle in stock for pre-order.

During its Direct event yesterday, Nintendo made a few new announcements with regards to Zelda and Mega Man. Both franchises will be seeing new amiibo along with titles set to release next year. Head below to find out more about the latest Zelda HD remake, the new golden Mega Man and where to pre-order:

The long expected HD re-release of Zelda Twilight Princess has finally been announced. The title, which was initially developed for the GameCube/Wii, is set to drop in March of next year with updated visuals for the Wii U. The game will also ship with the new Wolf Link and Midna amiibo. It sounds as though other Legend of Zelda amiibo figures will be compatible with the the Twlight Princess HD remaster including Toon Link, Ganandorf and more.

Details on how the amiibo integrate with the game are somewhat scarce right now, but it sounds as though data saved on the figures from Twilight Princess HD will in some way carry over to the next major Zelda installment on Wii U. Pre-orders will net you a copy of the soundtrack, but details on how that will be delivered are yet to be announced.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD remaster + Wolf Link/Midna amiibo is set to release on March 4, 2016 and is currently up for pre-order at Best Buy and Amazon for $59.99.

The Mega Man Legacy Collection hit consoles a few months ago to positive reviews, but Nintendo is taking it to the next level with a special edition Mega Man amiibo to go along side the game’s release on Nintendo 3DS. While details and pricing aren’t available just yet, it sounds as though both the standard Mega Man and the bundled gold version will unlock new challenges in Mega Man Legacy Collection.

The retail and digital versions of Mega Man Legacy Collection for Nintendo 3DS and the omitted edition version of the game with the gold Mega Man figure will be available on February 23rd, 2016. Pre-orders are already available over at Amazon for $49.99.
