Fitness has established itself at the forefront of 2015’s hottest technology: it seems that nearly anything that has Bluetooth connectivity has been made into a workout tracking product of some kind. Jabra has released a new set of Sport Coach in-ear headphones that have wireless capabilities but more importantly track over 40 exercises and provide coaching along the way.
Aside from the traditional iOS-connected features, Jabra is putting a focus on a more well rounded workout than its competitors by providing data and analysis for a wider range of activities.

By utilizing the Sport Life training app, Jabra’s Sport Coach in-ears collect data to help guide users through some 40 exercises and workouts. Along the way offering coaching directly layered in over the audio with encouragement and updates on your progress. All told, the Sport Coach headphones keep track of distance, pace, calories burned and total steps.
Much like other fitness options that we have seen from Fitbit and Garmin, the integrated TrackFit motion sensor will record data over a period of time and analyze your progress. This new product stands out for its tracking capabilities of many different fitness activities, like lifting, running and cross training, amongst others.
Jabra CEO Rene Svendsen explains further:
“For sports, we are committed to delivering innovative audio solutions designed to enhance the training experience for fitness enthusiast. We started by specifically targeting runners, and now we are taking the next step by delivering a solution optimized for cross trainers. We see clear possibilities for in-ear audio solutions combined with biometrics.”
These headphones have built-in Dolby Audio with NFC in addition to Bluetooth 4.0, which make them an excellent pair with Apple Watch. Jabra states these new in-ears will have a battery life of 5.5 hours, which isn’t quite to the level of what we’ve seen from other workout headphones like SOL REPUBLIC’s Shadows. Users of other popular fitness apps like RunKeeper, MapMyFitness and Runtastic will be able to utilize data from the Sport Coach headphones to get a better picture of a workout.
Jabra’s Sport Coach headphones are available today in blue, red, and yellow exclusively at Best Buy for $149.
