VIZIO introduces new 4K UHDTVs starting at $600, expands its audio lineup

Following the success of its P-Series line last fall, VIZIO is now detailing the new M-Series of 4K UHDTVs, as well as a number of other new products. VIZIO has long been known for both its quality and value across a number of different home entertainment categories.

Today, the California-based company has lifted the veil on its new soundbars, “high-dynamic range” televisions and the previously mentioned M-Series.

Starting with the M-Series, which previously was 1080p only, has now gained full 4K resolution across its line-up. This new collection features spatial scaling for non-4K content, 32 active LED zones and a 120Hz effective refresh rate, with 4K content coming in at 60Hz. As expected, it has smart functionality enabling users to grab content from Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and other sources which is driven by built-in 802.11ac connectivity. The M-Series starts at $599.99 for the 43-inch model, topping out at $3,999.99 for 80-inches of 4K glory.

Amazon already has the following models available:

VIZIO has also launched its 2015 home audio collection that ranges in size from 29-inch to 40-inch. This new line of products is led by the 40-inch 5.1 surround sound system that delivers via a 3-channel soundbar and a wireless set of rear speakers plus a subwoofer. The 2015 collection of soundbars start at $79.99 for the 29-inch model, going up to $349.99 for 5.1 surround sound. We’ve always been a fan of the VIZIO soundbars, especially when paired with a matching television.

Avid VIZIO consumers will also notice new sound stands, which rest below your television set. Two different models are available, one with an integrated subwoofer and one without. These speakers will retail for $249.99 and $149.99 respectively, although we are already seeing discounted prices at Amazon.

Finally, the Reference Series from VIZIO got an update as well. These televisions have a high dynamic range 4K system with a built-in soundbar and accompanying wireless rear speakers and subwoofer for a 5.1 audio experience. Its ultra color spectrum is capable of producing over a billion colors, while the system as a whole is Dolby certified for both video and audio. These new televisions will ship in 65 and 120-inch variants. Pricing and availability on the R-Series have yet to be released.
