Philips Hue Lux price drops make it cheaper than ever to add smart lighting to your house: single bulb $20, Starter Kit $80

Late last sumer Philips unveiled its Hue Lux smart bulb. Even though it’s a white-only bulb, its $30 price tag was attractive for iOS/Android users looking to tryout smart bulbs and those wanting to expand their current setup without spending a fortune. Now, a single Hue Lux bulb is down to just $19.99, a savings of over 30% off its regular price. The Starter Kit has also dropped in price. It includes a Philips Hue Bridge (needed to run any Hue bulb) and two Lux bulbs for $79.99, which is $20 less than its previous selling price of $100.

Many retailers (Walmart, Home Depot) are still charging full retail for these products, while some (Apple, Amazon) are listing them at the discounted rates. Apple rarely runs any sort of sale promos so it’s possible that this could be a permanent price drop. Either way, these deals are the lowest we’ve seen for both products.

Just like other Hue products, Lux bulbs are fully controllable from your iOS/Android device. Easily put the bulbs on a schedule to wake-up by a relaxing light instead of a startlingly alarm or even use the third party integration to receive mobile notifications in the form of light pulses.

The Philips Hue ecosystem also includes its regular 16-million color bulbs, lightstrips, the all-new Hue Go portable light, and more.
