Amazon launches a new custom 3D printing storefront

Amazon has launched a new custom 3D Printing Store. While the online retail giant has sold a number of affordable 3D printers for some time now, the new storefront offers a selection of customizable 3D printed items to choose from including phone cases, wallets, home decor items, toys, jewelry, bobble-heads and more.

The amount of customization available varies depending on the item. You’ll see everything from basic color selections to deeper choices like size and texture options as well as custom text and item specific tweaks.

While there are some stock goods that don’t have any customization available, on items like the $30 Bobble-head dolls from Mixee Labs, Amazon has provided a mini editor with everything from hair, eye and face selections as well as outfits with custom text and more. With something like the $60 custom 3D printed cuff links, buyers can choose any 3 letter monogram, the color and material as well as the shape.

We have seen more home 3D printers approaching affordable prices like the upcoming New Matter MOD-t (which is currently up for preorder at $249), but the new 3D Printer Store offers a nice option for those who haven’t dived into the 3D printer space yet. Most of the highly rated and best selling home 3D printers will still run you anywhere from $499 to over $1000.
